Veteran Hills Disc Golf Course

Veteran Hills is a collaboration between Vernon Trails, a non-profit recreational organization, and Viroqua’s local VFW Post 3032 that began in the fall of 2013. The VFW has graciously allowed us to build and maintain a championship caliber course on 40+ acres of their land. Design by Brandon Day and course-work by volunteers started immediately. We installed the first basket in July of 2014 and the last basket in August of 2015. Concrete teepads were poured in the spring of 2016, and signage has evolved with the course.

There are 18 holes, 6 of which have alternate tees and 11 with multiple baskets. Our volunteer crew has continued to add more features and alternates each year. Course maintenance is fully volunteer, funded by donations. The course is free to the public to play. The land and trails share the space with other recreational activities like hiking, trail running, winter fat-biking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.

Veteran Hills Disc Golf Course shines in the early fall when the fall colors kick in – timed just right for the Shoot the Moon tournament. The location also allows us use of the VFW’s indoor banquet area to use as Tournament Central and for on-site lunch, as well as a covered pavilion and camping space.
